Dr. Neeraj Jain is a distinguished pathologist and educator, with both graduate and postgraduate degrees from the prestigious University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi. As President of the Association of Practicing Pathologists and a member of the Governing Council of the Association of Indian Laboratories (AOIL), he is recognized as a leader in India’s laboratory medicine community.
He has led over 500 training programs across premier institutions including AIIMS Delhi, PGI Chandigarh, PGIMS Rohtak, and GCRI Ahmedabad, establishing himself as a national authority in laboratory training and accreditation. As a NABL and NABH assessor, and a National Faculty for NABL (ISO 15189), he brings deep expertise in ISO standards, including ISO 15189, ISO 17043, and ISO 13528. He also holds a Six Sigma Green Belt from the Indian Statistical Institute.
Dr. Jain’s contributions have been widely recognized, with honors such as the IMA National Award (2014) for lab quality education, DMA President Awards (2014, 2017), and the IGHM Custodian of Humanity Award (2021). His academic work has also been acknowledged at CMC Vellore, and MELAP was awarded Best Institution for Health Education & Training at the 10th MT India Healthcare Awards (2020).
A regular guest faculty at national conferences and an active member of ILAC WG.6 (ISO 15189) in Geneva, Dr. Jain is committed to advancing quality standards and capacity building in laboratory practice across India.

MELAP was founded in 2014 with a mission to help medical laboratories adopt ISO 15189 and other global best practices — enabling them to deliver high-quality, internationally aligned patient care. What started as a vision to improve laboratory standards has expanded into a national effort to build capacity, elevate skills, and drive quality across healthcare professions.
Over the past decade, we have conducted more than 500 training programs across 25 Indian states and union territories, empowering over 20,000 healthcare professionals across 25 states and Union Territories of India. Our support has helped institutions such as AIIMS Delhi, AIIMS Jodhpur PGI Chandigarh and AFMC Pune successfully navigate internal audits, accreditation, and quality improvement initiatives.
While ISO 15189 remains a core focus, MELAP’s capabilities extend well beyond accreditation support. We offer ad hoc and customized training programs for laboratory technicians and healthcare professionals, along with specialized courses on emerging and cross-cutting areas such as Six Sigma, Artificial Intelligence in healthcare, and Quality Risk Management — equipping organizations to thrive in a rapidly evolving landscape.
